Winter is almost over and that means the holiday season is just around the corner. Now is the perfect time to start thinking about how you can digitally power your holiday activities; from shopping and decorating to scheduling time with family and friends.

Join us this December at the Telstra Cloud Hackathon. Develop your best hack to help make people’s lives easier this holiday season.

* There is a limited supply of hardware components and tools available. We may not have every component so please bring your own tools if you require specific components.

The event will be held @ Telstra’s (brand new) Gurrowa Innovation Lab which is a 500 metre walk from Parliament station. If you plan to drive, there is 24 hour parking @ 180 Lonsdale St (Secure Parking QV).

FAQ

What equipment do I need to bring?

All you need is your computer as well as the software and hardware you’ll be using on the day. There will also be a limited supply of hardware components and tools available. Other than that, enthusiasm and a passion for innovation is also encouraged!

Will there be food? 

All meals such as breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning and afternoon tea will provided. We will also cater for varying dietary requirements so please let us know upon registration if you have any allergies or other needs.

I am a Telstra employee, can I participate in The Telstra Cloud Hackathon?

Telstra Employees are eligible to enter. For more information, please refer to The Telstra Cloud Hackathon terms and conditions.

Who are the judges?

Who owns the prototypes, ideas, pitches or intellectual property at the end of The Telstra Cloud Hackathon?

You do, along with the rest of your team! Please refer to The Telstra Cloud Hackathon terms and conditions for more details, which is available upon registration.

How late can I stay?

We want you to come back refreshed and raring to go on Sunday so we are closing the doors at 12am on Friday and Saturday and re-opening at 8am on Saturday and Sunday

My team and I are looking to register for The Telstra Cloud Hackathon. Do we all need to register?

Yes, all your team mates need to register individually. This is important as each participant must agree to our terms and conditions and acknowledge that they are over 18 years of age to be eligible to join in the fun. Any questions, email us.

What prizes are up for grabs? 

Great prizes will be provided by Telstra and our generous sponsors that could kickstart your start-up or entrepreneurial innovation! Prizes will be awarded to winning teams.

Can I participate on my own?

Unfortunately you need a team to compete in The Telstra Cloud Hackathon. If you already have a 3-6 person team, then you are ready to go. If you don’t have a team, you can meet people during the commencement on Friday and form a team.

How long are the final pitches?

Each team gets 3 minutes to present and 2 minutes for Q&A.
